The
name Zephanyah means "God Has Concealed."
The prophet Zephaniah,
whose name we adopt for this site with a one-letter spelling
clarification to highlight its meaning 1,
surely understood this very well. He must have known, too,
that
his name had been mystically given to him by the Living God before
Zephaniah was born, for like the other
Old Testament
prophets and John the Baptist, Zephaniah was destined to
reveal a
certain measure of what God has concealed in His Word.
Our Mission
...
is to share the Bible that we love, and
the insights to it
that we've gained in our studies, so that anyone who wants to
understand God's Word
can
read it with confidence in the power of its Truth.
In doing this, we
pray constantly that our
work will serve the Lord.
Our
focus is Bible Prophecy. The most valuable source of prophecy
in
all history, the Bible's seers have always been 100% accurate, more
than any other source in world history by a significant margin.
One would expect that to be true when Almighty God is the
true
source.
To
expose the fullness of Biblical prophecy, however, we must continue to
plow the depth of
Scripture each day, prayerfully. The
substance of the Bible; that which gives it
structure and purpose, as it happens, also shows the glory of Salvation
in ways not apparent to us when we lack discernment of its
patterns. In fact, the entire Bible is one great, elegant
prophecy from beginning to end. To gain the benefits of this
gift, we need only give proper attention to the book so familiar, yet
still obscure to many, because it too often sits
idle,
gathering dust on the shelf.
Join
us as we open it, and begin
to read with understanding.
Hebrews
5:
13
For
every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of
righteousness: for he is a babe.
14 But
strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those
who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good
and evil.

another subject that's close to my heart: check out the video below.
1We
feel free to exchange the letter "y" for the "i" in Zephaniah's name
without reservation, because "Yah" is the shortened name of
Yehovah God used
throughout Scripture, particularly in naming prophets.
Although as a suffix in personal names, it is often spelled in
English, "iah," Hebrew spellings use the "Y" (not a "J", as we
find in the English translated form, Jehovah.) Such is the
case for the name of
this prophet in Hebrew, which is (phonetically) Tsephanyah.
